New Realities Virtual Panel on October 7, 2021: A Changing World and New Conceptual Approaches in European Studies

Recently, there has been not only global and regional power shifts, but more nationalist, authoritarian and protectionist discourses have also become important features. At the point of time when we convinced ourselves that global changes were only limited to this, we began to bitterly experience the global pandemic, the devastating consequences of climate change and the crisis that humanity has fallen into are more vital than any other political, economic and social phenomena. In this panel, we aim to discuss the conceptual and theoretical changes, as well as transformations that European Studies have experienced in recent years. In this context, you can contribute with your ideas about how European Studies develops the field in the context of rising nationalism, xenophobia, illiberal practices, climate crisis, pandemic politics and migration.

Papers will be considered for inclusion in working paper series and/or edited volumes of the COST Action ENTER. The panel will be part of the COST Action ENTER Week, October 4-8, 2021.
